Quality Training for Children’s Ministry

Child Evangelism Fellowship is well-known for its quality, practical training program for children’s ministry workers and leaders. We believe that the training is critical to having a fruitful and vibrant work among children. In the past four years, CEF workers around the world have trained over one million volunteers to effectively minister to children. This makes CEF the largest children’s ministry organzation in the world today.

CEF of Virginia has a qualified staff of trainers who are graduates of our Children’s Ministries Institute and have years of experience in children’s ministry. Learn from the best!

Good News Club Training

  • Procedures Workshops

This three-hour workshop is specifically designed for new Good News Club teams. As a setting for after-school programs, the public school presents unique opportunities and challenges. Team members will learn procedures for conducting a Good News Club in the public school venue from student arrival through dismissal, from set-up to clean-up. Team member roles, CEF’s Child Protection Policy, and organizational issues will be discussed.

  • Curriculum Workshops

These three-hour workshops orient Good News Club teaching teams to the curriculum series they will be teaching to the children during a five or six week period. Curriculum workshops are part of our coaching and mentoring program and are offered four times per year, since clubs are held for approximately 24 weeks per school year.

  • Super Saturdays  (All day training events)

These one-day training events train new and existing Good News Club team members, as well as other children’s ministry workers, in how to be effective in their ministry with children. Topics can include Leading a Child to Christ, Counseling a Child for Salvation, Classroom Management, Teaching Review Games, Song Time in the Class Hour, Teaching Scripture Memory, Taking Your Club to the Next Level and more! Check our calendar for upcoming dates.

All Good News Club teams are required to complete these three areas of training.

Teaching Children Effectively®

Teaching Children Effectively courses are 30-hour extension courses of the Children’s Ministries Institute in Warrenton, MO.  TCE Level 1  trains teachers to lead children to the Lord wherever they are and to conduct a Good News Club outreach program  in their neighborhoods or public school. Children’s ministry workers in local churches are encouraged to attend. TCE Level 2 trains teachers to lead children in the systematic process of spiritual growth. We are training ministry practitioners, so practicums are a vital part of these courses.
